Our school motto, "Gaudere et Bene Facere" means "Rejoice and do well". This has been a guiding factor in setting both the high educational standards and happy environment in this flourishing girls' school.
St. Teresa's Preparatory School was established at Grove House in 1953 with the aim of providing a broad and stimulating education based on sound Christian principles within a happy and caring atmosphere. The importance of each girl as an individual and treating her as such enables pupils to develop in confidence and maturity. We provide an academic challenge within a stimulating and supportive environment and all girls can fulfil their potential here and achieve their own personal standards of excellence both in their studies and other activities.
As a Roman Catholic foundation, St. Teresa's warmly welcomes girls of other faiths.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this website. I hope that it will give you some insight into the very special place which is St Teresa's Prep... and that it will whet your appetite to come and visit!
From our youngest girls in the Nursery to the Year 6 girls who leave us for the Senior School, we believe that a child's introduction to the world of education should be a positive one. Teaching at St Teresa's Prep focuses wholly on the individual and our girls thrive in a happy, stimulating and challenging environment at all levels as they acquire the foundations in Literacy and Numeracy on which they will build for the rest of their lives.
Our curriculum is designed to stimulate healthy curiosity and develop independent learning skills and as our girls progress through to the end of the Pre Prep, they have already begun to look upon school as a secure and encouraging environment where work, fun and play are inextricably linked. This is the stage at which a real love of learning begins.
Once in the Prep School, we build on this and our girls benefit from specialist teaching in all
subject areas - English, Maths, Science, French, History, Geography, Art and Textiles, Drama and
Sport which makes us unique in the area! Girls can therefore be inspired and enthused by teachers
who have a deep and detailed knowledge of, and passion for, their subjects.

We believe that every girl in our care is special and unique and we pride ourselves on identifying and developing the creative and academic talents of each and every one of them. Therefore learning at St Teresa's Prep does not stop at the classroom. There is a wealth of extra-curricular activities designed to build confidence and to widen horizons. From the age of 7, girls also have the option of boarding, either on a full, weekly or flexi basis; one more way in which St Teresa's girls develop independence, confidence and social skills.

combination of academic excellence and a commitment to the moral and spiritual development
of each girl.
